Arsenal Transfer News - Arsenal set to trigger the £33million release clause in Jackson Martinez' contract, according to reports from Portugal.
The Metro report: "Arsenal have made Porto striker Jackson Martinez their top January transfer target, according to reports in Portugal.
Jackson Martinez has been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Chelsea over the past few months, but it looks as though Arsenal are stepping up their pursuit with boss Arsene Wenger in desperate need of a new centre-forward.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola believes the Gunners are preparing to trigger Martinez’s £33m release clause.
The 27-year-old striker has netted 14 goals in 20 appearances for Porto this term and while the club would prefer to sell him in the summer, they have yet to completely rule out a deal this month."
