Manchester City News - Manchester City has confirmed Nasri's injury, Samir Nasri will be out for eight weeks. He has suffered knee ligament damage and will spend two months on the sidelines after being hurt in Manchester City's 2-0 win over Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old took to Twitter to reveal his news, saying: "Thank you everyone for your kind words and overwhelming support, i suppose its kind of good news that i will be out around 8 weeks." (Nasri's Twitter : @SamNasri19)
Nasri was hurt in a challenge with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and manager Manuel Pellegrini admitted after the game that it looked like a severe injury and claimed the Newcastle defender should have been sent off for the foul.
“It's very serious because I think it was a very unfair kick from the player of Newcastle it was directly red card. I don’t understand why he [Yanga-Mbiwa] wasn’t sent off," he told reporters.
“Samir Nasri has a problem with his medial ligaments, we’ll see tomorrow how serious, but I don’t think it’s a nice thing, I think it’s serious.”
